Something-to-draw.com was a personal project using the Flickr.com API to pull random aesthetic images from their database using selected or randomized tags. What was initially a small project to inspire some drawing practice turned into an interesting journey through search engine optimization. I experimented with submitting the site to social media and doing some keyword optimization to eventually get the site to the top of several relevant keywords (most obviously “something to draw”).
Currently the site gets ambient search engine driven traffic of about 50-100 unique visitors each day.
